About Missing Link

The game

Every day there's a new chain of seven words. You see the first and the last, and you find the five in between. Each word joins the next to make a compound word or a common phrase, like CUP and CAKE (cupcake) or CAKE and WALK (cakewalk). The goal is to finish with as few misses as you can. Read how to play.

How the puzzles are made

• Every link in a chain is checked to be a real compound word or common phrase.
• Words are checked against a profanity list, so the game is fine for all ages.
• The answers are never sent to your browser until you find them, so nobody can look them up in the page.
• Hints for today's puzzle are at /hints. Full answers go up at /answers only after a day is over in every time zone.

Free to play

There's nothing to buy and no account to make. Your stats are saved on your own device. We count plays anonymously to see how many people play and how hard each puzzle is, and we may show ads to keep the game free. Our privacy policy explains exactly what we collect.
